There seems to be a city for each color in India. Jaisalmer as the Golden City, Jodhpur as the Blue City, and now, we immerse ourselves in Jaipur, the Pink City. Jaipur owes its color to a composite coating of slaked lime, along with natural pigments known as stucco. The pink dye, taken as a symbol of the city, is the key to record our memories while visiting the city also is the state capital of Rajasthan.

Jaipur is one of the oldest and most historic cities in India. The old town area, it is precisely the one that stands out for its salmon pink color, a hue that the tradition of Rajasthan, believes to bring good fortune.

In Jaipur, stately buildings stand as the Hawa Mahal Palace, built in 1799 as an extension of zenama or royal harem.

The number of windows, a total 953, had the functionality to allow real women to observe the street without being seen. In addition, wind from the windows, the Palácio earned him the name of Palace of the Winds. Jaipur is the symbol and one of the best examples of Rajput architecture.

The wall, we see in some of the images, completely surround the city. Also in Jaipur is a famous astronomical observatory complex built in 1728 by Maharaja Jai Singh since 2010, was declared a World Heritage Site. The pink city, in addition, merits our list of great places.

On a hill 180 meters south of Bhilwara inRajasthan,India, is the strong Chittorgarh was built in the seventh century. It is the largest in India: its dimensions are huge (2.8 square kilometers), surrounded by walls that for centuries surround also impressive buildings including temples, palaces and towers up to 37 meters tall with striking architectural details.

Inside the fortress, is for example the tower “Vijay Stambha” (Tower of Victory), an imposing structure built 37 meters in height in the fifteenth century to commemorate a victory of King Rana Kumbha of Mewar, the combined armies of Malwa andGujarat. Completely covered with architectural ornaments, figures reflect much of Hindu iconography. The tower can be visited from the top and allows a great view of the city ofChittorgah. In the same complex there is another similar tower and oldest,TowerofFame.

Judging by the pictures, the resort Chittogarth is another example of the architectural gems that keepsIndiaand yet is hardly known for tourism. However, over centuries, places like Chittogarth have ignited the imagination of visitors and writers for centuries.
