Almost everyone knows the MS Deutschland. This is mainly because the 500-passenger cruise ship has been the backdrop of the ZDF series, “The Love Boat” in 1999. Since 2007, there is also the series “Captain Ron” on where this ship starred.

Outside the world of television, this ship comes at 175 meters long and 23 meters wide, which is almost a perfectly manageable ship. In various rankings, it is always counted among the best in the world. According to the prestigious “Cruise Guide 2011″: “If there is a cruise ship that has managed to combine the utmost luxury and warmth, then this is the MS Deutschland.”

This is probably one reason why the Olympic Games in London named the MS Deutschland as the official “German ship London 2012.”
